We believe that clean rivers, lakes and streams are vital to the health, welfare and prosperity of our communities. To that end, we support the efforts made at every level to bring the improvements envisioned in "The Clean Water Act" into reality for everyone who depends on our most precious resource - water! We get results! Since early 2000, we have performed over 8,000 maintenance operations removing 17 million pounds of material from the environment and disposing of it properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a property owner required to have an annual inspection of stormwater control measures?

Depending on the state you own property, the state and local permit requirement most likely requires an annual inspection of any SCM (Stormwater Control Measure) or BMP (Best Management Practice).

Why is inspection necessary for a stormwater system?

Stormwater drainage systems not only transport stormwater flows but a wide variety of pollutants and other material.  When drainage systems are design to capture these pollutants there needs to be consistent inspections to ensure that they are operating as designed.  Maintenance and safety concerns also impact the volatile nature of stormwater systems.

Can external changes affect a property’s drainage system?

Yes, external changes like upstream impacts, infrastructure repairs, or other environmental factors can affect a property's drainage system.

How often should I have my stormwater drainage system inspected?

At a minimum, the systems should be inspected once a year based on the guidance from the regulatory bodies but there any many types of pollutant removal systems that require more frequent inspections.  This is based on pollutant load and flow rates as well as downstream concerns.
